Successful Non-fluoroscopic Radiofrequency Ablation of Incessant Atrial Tachycardia in a High Risk Twin Pregnancy
نویسندگان
چکیده
We describe a patient presenting with incessant ectopic atrial tachycardia during a high risk twin pregnancy. Tachycardia was resistant to escalating doses of beta-blockade with digoxin. Because of increasing left ventricular dysfunction early in the third trimester, catheter ablation was performed successfully at 30 weeks gestation. Electro-anatomic mapping permitted the entire procedure to be conducted without the use of ionizing radiation. The pregnancy proceeded to successful delivery near term and after three years the patient remains recurrence free with normal left ventricular function, off all medication.

Successful radiofrequency catheter ablation therapy of an adolescent with atrial ectopic tachycardia.
Atrial ectopic tachycardia is an incessant supraventricular tachycardia and is frequently refractory to medical treatment. Because it can cause tachycardia-induced cardiomyopathy, early diagnosis and treatment is important. We present a 16-year-old boy who was diagnosed as atrial ectopic tachycardia. The tachycardia, originating from the lower region of the right atrium along the crista termina...
متن کاملElectroanatomic Mapping-Guided Radiofrequency Ablation of Adenosine Sensitive Incessant Focal Atrial Tachycardia Originating from the Non-Coronary Aortic Cusp in a Child
Incessant focal atrial tachycardia may be encountered in the pediatric age group although it is rarely seen. Ablation using radiofrequency or cryothermal energy is the preferred method for drug-resistant cases. Recently, 3D electroanatomic mapping systems have been increasingly used for mapping and ablation. In this report, we presented, for the first time, a pediatric case with incessant focal...
متن کامل[Non-fluoroscopic electroanatomical mapping (CARTO system) in the ablation of atrial tachycardias].
INTRODUCTION AND OBJECTIVES The recent introduction of navigation systems has made substantial improvements in cardiac electrophysiological mapping. We present our experience with non-fluoroscopic electroanatomical mapping in patients with atrial tachycardias. PATIENTS AND METHOD We studied 24 consecutive patients with atrial tachycardias (10 of whom had undergone previous radiofrequency abla...
متن کاملWhat Next After Failed Septal Ventricular Tachycardia Ablation?
Ablation of ventricular tachycardia (VT) by conventional radiofrequency ablation can be impossible if the ventricular wall at the targeted ablation site is very thick, as for example the ventricular septum. We present a case of a patient with incessant, non-sustained slow VT originating from the septal part of the lower outflow tracts. Radiofrequency catheter ablation from both ventricles as we...
متن کاملIncessant atrial flutter after device closure of atrial septal defect: successful radio frequency ablation.
A four-month-old baby presented with failure to thrive and congestive cardiac failure precipitated by a lower respiratory tract infection. He was found to have a large ostium secundum atrial septal defect measuring 18 mm. This was successfully closed percutaneously by a device (Blockaid). A month after the device deployment the child developed typical atrial flutter. Despite rate control drugs ...
